The Age of Exploration or “Age of Discovery” refers to the time period of the 15th to 17th centuries when Europeans began to explore vast regions of the world be sea. Improvements in navigation and shipbuilding as well as a need for new trade routes led to the increase in exploration by the European nations.
You will research several different significant explorers during the time period of the Age of Exploration. You will make use of a variety of research sources. Online sources will be listed on this site. There will be print sources recommended when relevant. You will be expected to fill out a chart with information listed on the chart. Students must choose from the list of explorers below.
